A Dreamy Giveaway!

Okay, terrible post-title puns aside, I am going to celebrate the release of my friend Lauren Mechling's Dream Life, the fabulous follow-up to her novel Dream Girl, by giving away an awesome prize-pack of both books. And you thought Christmas was over...

If you want to win, though, you got to do a little somethin' somethin' for me (hey--nothing in the world is ever truly free!) :P Claire Voyante, the main character in Dream Girl and its sequel, sees the future in her dreams...though she often has difficulty interpreting the meaning of these visions.

So, if you want to enter this contest, you've got to answer my question: What's the freakiest or strangest dream you've ever had? Contest ends 1/18, so come on and hit me back!

Please remember to leave an email address so I can contact you if you win!

Freakiest dream I've ever had is a horror-type movie where I was driving with my teen daughter and gradeschool son. We went to a carnival in a field and the carnies were evil-types. Fights & flight ensued. More bad stuff happened that made me awaken, shaking.
:)
I wrote it down though, as a great story idea.

The freakiest dream I have ever had kind of relates to BIF. In my dream I had been sick for a long time and finally realized that I couldn't fight it any longer and I was going to die. I had to say goodbye to all of my 9 siblings and my parents. Everybody around me was crying. Then I "died" and woke up floating in my backyard at nighttime. I looked inside my kitchen window and I believe that I saw my mom crying. I woke up after that and when I realized it was just a dream, I almost ran into my parents room to hug them and tell them that I loved them. It was the scarriest, most life changing dream I have ever had.

I had this dream that my brother took over the world (I could see this happening), sold his roommates into slavery (little weird), and had bounty hunters (one's that wanted me dead) out looking for me. Then all of a sudden, I was able to fly or whatever, and just walk through walls (totally awesome). So, to escape my evil brother, I flew (yea, flew, like with just myself) to Canada (don't ask, cuz I don't know. Apparently they were all still not under my bro's control). As if that isn't weird enough, for some inexplicable reason, the whole dream was in the color pink. Why? I have no idea. It's not even my favorite color.

I have a lot of freaky dreams, so it's really difficult to narrow it down! But I guess one of the freakiest was a dream I had of running away from someone (don't know who - or what) and I'm running through my grade school, in one entrance and out the other. Only, when I come out on the other side, the ground starts opening up at random spots and some creatures try to pull me underground with them. So the whole time, I am trying to dodge them as the stranger is still chasing me.

I think it was the one in which I was cooking (I don't cook) with Ricky Martin and we both were miniatures who later flew away riding a giant butterfly.

I've never been able to find any coherence or meaning to that.

Weirdest dream? I was four and dreamed that various Disney characters were walking up and down red stairs, each with a candle in their hand. They didn't seem to have any idea where they were headed, but finally they all collected in one place. It was a giant, red room, and in it was a GIANT trampoline and a GIANT platform for people to jump on to the trampoline. Alladin stepped up to jump first. I think there might have even been a drum roll. He jumped onto the trampoline, flew up high, then stopped jumping and stood on the trampoline. Then he shouted "IT WORKS!" or something like that. everyone shouted "Hurray! at the same time, and so they all got on the trampoline at the same time. WTF, right? I've also had two book ideas from dreams.

The freakiest dream I ever had was when I was reading The Shining, it gave me nightmares the whole time but I forced myself to continue.

So, in my dream I was asleep in bed, just coming round to consciousness, I was shivering because my room was so so cold, and when I opened my eyes, I could see my breath coming out in big white puffs. That was the only thing I could see, the room was pitch black, but I knew someone else was in the room, I could hear them walking towards me. I started to panic and went to grab the sheets to put them over my head, but they'd disappeared. I was just lay on the bed, in the dark and I couldn't do anything other than wait and see what was coming for me.

Scary!!! fortunately, I woke up right then.

Awesome contest Lauren

Actually, my strangest dreams are the ones where I'm not even there, just a watcher, like a movie. Only, more surreal, and it's happened more than once. Take your normal weird dream, put it into video format, and that's it.

Actually, one of those times was pretty gore... This guy was drowning on a chair and a shark ate it full, and the movie ended. But I was thinking "hey, this guy drowned, because he's got petechias!!" (too much CSI, i know)

I wrote about the dream where I got sick and died then found myself (during the dream) in my backyard and I forgot to leave my email address. So here it is.

[This dream happened to me right after I read A Series of Unfortunate Events #8.] I was slightly unconscious & was lying on a hospital bed surrounded by many weird-looking self-proclaimed doctors. Then all of a sudden, I could feel someone waking me up & told me to run for my life. So, I ran. I ran all over the hospital, down the stairs, past the 'doctors'. I kept running until I woke up feeling my heart beating so fast that I felt breathless. It was, weird. So weird.

Just one?I have them all the time. I have dreams about 'stuff' happening and in the dream I see myself realizing while the 'stuff' is happening that I dreamt about it. And the point where I realize I saw all of the 'stuff' happening in the dream is freaky enough.
But for instance this one time I was chopping carrots and I cut my finger and when I cut it I started howling and then I stopped and remembered that I'd dreamt it would happen.
Dunno if that made any sense but, there.

The freakiest dream I have ever had was the one in which I was another person, I could see me talking to the person I was! It was pretty odd, because while I was dreaming I noticed that I wasn't myself! And I felt like I had dreamt that before and that dream was like the sequel!

The freakiest dream I ever had was that I was in a department store that was being held up, and all the people in the department store made me go with the robber so that he would leave. So basically, they sacrificed me! I woke up as we were walking out of the store, and I was unsettled about it for DAYS. Yikes!
