Introducing...LIESL & PO!!

I am so, so, excited about what I have to share with you today...Advance Readers Copies of my new middle-grade book, LIESL & PO!! Some of the sketches aren't final, but the ARCs come swaddled in this absolutely gorgeous box; check out the pictures below. Isn't it magic??

DON'T YOU WANT ONE???

Well, GOOD. Because I'm giving away THREE COPIES NOW, and I'll give away THREE COPIES EACH MONTH until the book comes out in October.

You might be asking--Why am I so nice? Because I love you, of course!

You might ALSO be asking, how do I enter to win?? Well, in this round, I'm going to keep it simple. You get +1 entry for responding to this post (with your email, of course), and telling me what your favorite book was when you were a little kid. (Mine was probably Matilda, by Roald Dahl, or the Redwall Series, by the brilliant and recently deceased Brian Jacques). Please remember to include your email address!
Additionally, you get +2 for being a follower of my blog, and + 3 for twittering about it. If you do a blog post about the contest/my first foray into middle-grade, you get a whopping +4!

I read so many books when I was a little girl that it's hard to pick! Hmmmm... well out of everything, my favorite was probably the Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. Between the clever eldest sister, the intelligent brother, and the adorable baby talk of the baby sister, this series of, well, "unfortunate" events, something about it enchanted me! Thanks for your time!

(They're series for those who did not know.)But, then again, they were just my favorite authors. I love reading, and I always have. <3. Sillyvanny(at)gmail(dot)com. (:

When I was younger I devoured Roald Dahl's books, including Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, The BFG, The Witches (my fav!), and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! The only other books that remember absolutely devouring in fifth grade were the Chronicles of Narnia books and the Wrinkle in Time books. I keep telling myself that I need to read them all again!

What a fabulous giveaway! I wish I had jumped on the bandwagon sooner!

When I was in grade school, I couldn't get enough of The Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. It was just darkly sarcastic in a way that most middle grade books weren't and I totally related to that. Most books for that age group seem to be only fantasy/adventure and not talk too much about the darker side of life.
And I'm follower.

Just finished Delirium and also read Before I Fall. Congratulations on your success with these two books and your new adventures in middle grade literature. As a Creative Writing and English teacher, I'd love to learn more about your writing process, which your friend Elizabeth Miles described as, "regular writing routine" if you're willing to share. My favorite books as a child were Ann McCaffrey's Series The Dragonriders of Pern, and also Madeleine L'Engle's Wrinkle in Time series-yet the first book is my favorite. Thanks so much!

When I was reading picture books, we didn't have that many around, not even in the bookstores, so the ones I did get to read were those gorgeously illustrated Russian ones from the bookfair. Such a pity that perestroika and glasnost and the breakup of USSR has led to a complete absence of those books from the Indian market. Later, Enid Blytons of course - any of her books!

Like Charlie's one birthday chocolate, this is my one chance, slim as it may be. Who knows?

I didn't get into reading until about 6th or 7th grade. So, I guess my favorite book for a while was the Secret Garden (I know I should look up the author, but I don't think there is anyone who doesn't know about this book!). Currently, though, I really like Leviathon, By Scott Westerfeld (My Favorite Author!), and it's been that way for a while. The Hunger Games (the first book) is a close second.
