You know you do!
As you probably all know by now, I am SO EXCITED about the release of DELIRIUM--it feels like I've had to wait FOREVER for this book to hit the shelves!! (Okay, forever is a bit of an exaggeration...but waiting two years is no picnic, let me tell you.)
In this video I explain the origination of the idea for Delirium, and also disclose secrets of my gym habits (i.e., that I often write in my head!) while gesticulating wildly. I mean, I knew I was a hand-talker but jeez.
Anyway, check it out, and let me know what you think!

Congrats on the near release...two months more to go!
I loved your books. Can't wait for the next one. I would like to think that I would escape to the wilds, too, but I tend to be a follower -- would I be able to see how wrong this society was, if it is all I had known, and the people I love and respect thought it was OK? (OK, I guess I wouldn't LOVE them, but maybe respect?) That's why your book is so great -- it makes you think about these things. Can't wait to have it in my library and recommend it to all my teens!
Great video! Thank you for sharing! Part of me would probably escape to the wilds, mostly because I think love is the greatest thing. But I tend to be the kind of person who stays in the background, who likes to stay in their comfort box. I'm getting better at stepping out, though, so maybe I'll overcome the hesitancy someday soon. :-)
Loved it. And you are a hand-talker! lol
I think your new book is amazing and I've only read the first chapter so far. It's really stayed with me though and I'm dying to read the rest (I'm lucky enough to have the book but I have others needing to be read first). I thought you were very articulate and eloquent in the video Lauren and I love hearing about where your ideas come from :)
I loved Delirium, so it's really fun to hear you talk about it. And also, you're right--you are definitely a person who talks with her hands. ;) Being one myself I just had to laugh.
Lauren,
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of "Delirium" at work. It was FANTASTIC! I blew it through it so fast. I have to tell you, I like it even better than Allie Condie's "Matched," which also deals with love in a dystopian society. I've been looking forward to both books since this summer and was so glad to see an ARC! I'm actually the second person at work to read "Delirium." My manager was first and loved it just as much. We both participated in your BN First Look for "Before I Fall" earlier this year as well and are already fans of yours! I have a line of two co-workers already wanting to read "Delirium" (they all just read "Matched," too) and I can't wait to sell the book at my local BN!
Do you know if you're doing a blog tour for "Delirium?" If you are, is there a way to sign up a blog to participate if the queue isn't already full? My blog will be a year old in February, and while I haven't had any author interviews yet, I'd like to start such connections. I started at blogspot, and now port over to LJ with the same handle so that more people can comment.
Either way, I'm so excited about your new novel! I posted a blurb earlier tonight about how good it was and can't wait to post my review in Feb. (possibly end of Jan.).
Happy Holidays!
~Bonnie
